The Muffin Man tea shop - London Kensington

Hi every1! It has been 2 years since i last blogged. It felt good for me to once again introduce and share some of the food i love most!

T stumbled on this place when he google earth for nearby place that i can eat. It is just about 200m away from copthrone tara hotel in London kensington. This place serves mainly english breakfast, salads, sandwiches, desserts like cupcakes, American muffins, and SCONES!! The scones are the best i ever had! I'm serious, ever HAD! Usually, the scones I had in Singapore are those when you sink your teeth into it and chew, it will stick to your gums and teeth. Sounds familiar? Your mouth will be filled with a flour-like taste and you will have alot of difficulty trying to get the mess out using your flexible tongue? Well, I have tasted too many and did some of these silly manoeuvres myself. Let me introduce you to the best scones now so you can try when you visit london.

The Muffin Man scones are really good! It is served with Devon cream and strawberry jam. It is still warm when it is served to me. When i spread the devon cream on it, the cream melts slowly into the scone. I then topped it up with little jam as do not like it to be too sweet. ITS JUST PURRFECCCT! WOW! Crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. It crumbles ever so gracefully in my mouth and I savour every moment of it. The taste is light and slightly milky due to the devon cream and yet it does not over power the taste of the scones. 2 thumbs up! The set comes with a selection of teas and it cost 5.50pounds only! Oh ya, the teas are not from tea bags. They are actual tea leafs as you can see from the picture. I always have my scones with mint tea.
Devon cream, named for the shire where cows graze in rich pasture land, is thick and reminiscent of butter. Devon cream, or clotted cream, is prepared from rich creamy milk that is left to sit for 24 hours in winter, 12 hours in summer, before being gently heated until wrinkles and waves appear on the surface. It is then stored in a cool place until the next day when the clotted cream is skimmed from the surface.

On the right is the address. Hope you will enjoy the scones like I always have.
